You Are Not Alone

You Are Not Alone is a storytelling campaign for families who are entering into the child welfare system. We worked with DC Child & Family Services Agency (CFSA) to tell three separate stories for three different audiences -- parents, teenagers, and children. To do this, we employed three very different and age appropriate storytelling approaches.

These videos are now used as a tools during family interventions. Each DC CFSA social worker has all three videos available through an app on their phone to share with new families who are entering care. Each story is designed to offer encouragement and empowerment in a time of transition and uncertainty.

Client: DC Child & Family Services Agency

I want My Child Back

I Want My Child Back is a short documentary that follows two parents who had their children placed in foster care and documents their emotional journey towards reunification.

Audience: Parents

Your Voice, Your Choice

Your Voice, Your Choice tells the stories of three teenagers who are struggling with the myriad of emotions that come with entering foster care. We interviewed foster youth about their experiences and then wrote a fictional script based on the stories they shared. The characters are voiced by former District foster youth in their own words.

Audience: Youth ages 11-18

A Case of the Worries

A Case of the Worries tells the story of Jackie through the point-of-view of a Worry Eater -- a friendly, mythical creature who eats worries.

By scanning the QR code at the end of the video, you can donate a Worry Eater doll to a child entering foster care.

Audience: Youth ages 5-10
